GeoManitoba 2025 Travel Award

 

The Canadian Permafrost Association (CPA) supported selected Early Career Researchers (ECR)* to attend GeoManitoba 2025 in Winnipeg, from September 21-24, 2025. This award was a $500 reimbursment of travel and accomodation costs. The application for this award has now closed. 

 

Criteria:

  • Be an Early Career Member of the Canadian Permafrost Association
  • Have submitted an extended abstract or paper to GeoManitoba 2025, to be presented as a poster or oral presentation

*An Early Career Member of the Canadian Permafrost Association is an individual who is enrolled fulltime in a high school, college diploma, or university degree program OR has completed their most recent post-secondary qualification within the last four years and has applied for membership in the Canadian Permafrost Association and meets criteria approved by the board.

 

11th International Conference on Permafrost (ICOP 2020)

 

The Canadian Permafrost Association (CPA) funded two bursaries to encourage student participation in the 11th International Conference on Permafrost, which took place in Lanzhou, China from June 22-26, 2020. Two bursaries of $250 were awarded, one for a student presenting on a scientific subject, and one for a student presenting on an engineering subject. 

 

 

18th International Conference on Cold Regions Engineering and the 8th Canadian Permafrost Conference (ICCRE/CPA 2019)

 

The Canadian Permafrost Association (CPA) and the Canadian National Committee for the International Permafrost Association (CNC-IPA)  jointly funded up to 20 bursaries to encourage participation by students in the 18th International Conference on Cold Regions Engineering / 8th Canadian Permafrost Conference in Québec City from August 18-22, 2019.

 

The awards were ranked based on the quality and originality of the abstract and the contribution of the student to it. Applications were judged by a committee with members drawn from the CPA, CNC-IPA and PYRN North America. To learn more about the winners click here.
